How your floor is installed
We check the subfloor is flat, dry and solid, lay the boards out for grain and length, then install them. Solid gets nailed down; engineered goes down the way the subfloor calls for.
2 to 4 daysCoarse to fine passes until the floor is flat and smooth, with the dust contained at the machine. Prefinished boards skip this step — they arrive sanded and sealed.
Dust containedThe samples go straight onto your own sanded floor, not onto a sample board, so you approve the color in your own light.
You approve firstOil based or water based. Water based lets you walk sooner, oil based needs more days.

Yes. We apply the stain samples directly onto your sanded floor, not onto a sample board. Wood takes color differently depending on species and age, so seeing it on your actual floor is the only reliable way to choose.
In many cases yes. We help you select the species, stain and finish that come as close as possible to what you already have. Wood is a natural material, so an exact grain and color match cannot be guaranteed, and we tell you up front how close we expect to get.
Usually yes. Damaged boards can often be pulled and replaced individually, then blended into the surrounding floor. We inspect the damage first and tell you honestly whether a repair will disappear or whether refinishing the room is the better result.
Yes, furniture moving can be part of the job. Tell us at the estimate so it goes into the scope and the price, rather than becoming a surprise on the first day.
