Three things worth knowing before you choose
Laminate has a hard wear layer on top, and it is the most scratch resistant floor we install. Dogs, chairs, kids and heavy furniture do not mark it the way wood does. That is the reason it works so well in rentals and busy family rooms.
Free estimateLaminate is water resistant, not waterproof. It handles a spill you wipe up. It does not handle standing water, a dishwasher leak or a wet basement. If water is part of the room, LVP is the better call, and we will tell you that up front.

No. Laminate is water resistant, not waterproof: a spill wiped up is fine, standing water is not. For bathrooms, laundry rooms and basements we point you to LVP instead.

No. The wear layer is printed, so there is nothing to sand. When it wears out the floor gets replaced instead of refinished, and that can be one room at a time.
